Coronavirus

The latest on the Coronavirus

Colorado Springs Charter Academy is actively taking steps to:

·         help prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19;

·         protect our students, staff, and community; and

·         minimize the disruption of teaching and learning.

We are actively reviewing and updating our Emergency Operations Plan for Infectious Diseases, as well as creating multi-tiered education and communication plans.

These plans build on everyday practices, such as educating about proper hygiene, monitoring absenteeism and communicating regularly. Should a case or outbreak of COVID-19 be identified within our community, these plans will allow us to react quickly.

We are following the guidance of local, state and national health departments, but please remember this is a rapidly changing situation. As we update information and plans, we will share them with you. Below is a list of actions we are currently taking. CSCA is:

·         Following guidelines from the El Paso County Health Department for cleaning

·         Monitoring absenteeism within our schools and departments

·         Working closely with the El Paso County Department of Public Health

·         Establishing procedures for students and staff who test positive for COVID-19

·         Creating criteria for holding and/or cancelling large-scale events and gatherings

·         Determining plans if school/building closures are needed

·         Developing guidance for domestic/international travel and school reentry

·         Developing education and communication about proper hygiene

Prevent the spread of disease

National, state and regional health agencies recommend we:

·         Develop education and communication about proper hygiene

·         wash our hands often with soap and water,

·         cover coughs and sneezes by sneezing into an elbow or tissue,

·         clean frequently touched surfaces and objects,

·         stay home if you are sick,

·         avoid close contact with other people,

·         get a flu vaccination, and

·         avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
