Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 4th grade! I have greatly enjoyed getting to know and working with your children these past few days.  They are awesome kids and are coming to 4th grade very well prepared! I’m looking forward to a productive and exciting year of teaching and learning this year.  The children have already been introduced to all of their textbooks and they seem very enthusiastic about the topics we will be learning.  We are very lucky to have Mrs. Sapien as our class’s educational assistant. She has worked at CSCA for five years now and has worked with 4th grade classrooms before.

I wanted to share a bit about myself.  This will be my second year teaching and my third experience with 4th grade (including student teaching.) I have a B.A. in Psychology from DePaul University and a M.A. in Elementary Education from Saint Xavier University. Both schools are in Chicago, IL, my hometown.    I moved to Colorado two years ago and I absolutely love it!

To ensure a successful year, I would like to keep lines of communication open. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 719-636-2722  x 207 or at kwhite@cscharter.org.  I have met many of you already, but I look forward to meeting everyone at Parents Night, this Tuesday the 15th, from 6:00 to 7:30pm.

As a reminder, our class’s NWEA testing will begin on Monday, August 14th with Reading testing (1:45-2:45). The Math testing will be on Thursday, August 17th (9:30-10:30). Makes ups will be the following week.

Again, I’m so glad be your child’s teacher and I’m looking forward to a great year!

Sincerely,

Ms. White
