September 2019

Hello CSCA Families,

September is here and with it brings a few new happenings for our class!

First, every week we will have a Star Student!  A paper announcing that your student will be the star student will go home in their red Friday folders.  On Monday, please return the filled-out form, any family pictures they may want to share, and the star student may bring in ONE item to “show and tell”.

We also have a volunteer calendar on the shelves by the classroom door.  Please sign up for highlighted days if you are available to help at school.  Don’t forget to give me some contact info; there is a form for that as well.

Homework- You may have seen your student’s yellow homework folder in their backpack.  Please try to be on the lookout for it and give your student reminders to bring home and return it to school.  It may not come home every day, it is still a good idea to ask if there is any homework.  We try to remind them to bring it home, but if they forget… homework may pile up.

Some papers/activities you will see coming home in their red folders:

Reading:  We are working hard in our reading Groups!  You will see these worksheets coming home, so please have your student review these pages at home with a family member.

Math:  We have been exploring with lots of math manipulatives!  Ask your student which is their favorite to explore!

Writing:  We continue to work on cursive writing in many ways!  Keep practicing your names!

We also have been talking about our world, our senses, our organs, maps, and Native Americans.

Some reminders:

Please remember to check your student’s red folder on Friday and return the red folder to school on Monday (or the next school day).

Please try your best to have your student use the bathroom right before coming to school.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please come see me or email me!

Thank you for all you do!
