Hello! My name is Mrs. Moon, and I am so excited to be the CSCA Middle School Science teacher! I grew up in Riverton, WY and received my BS in Natural Science from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. After two years of teaching high school science in Woodland Hills, CA, I moved to Christchurch, New Zealand to begin graduate work in marine ecology at the University of Canterbury. Upon completion of a post-graduate degree, I returned home to Wyoming in 2011 to earn a secondary teacher’s credential in biology and earth science. I finished my Master's degree this summer, 2018, earning a dual Master’s in Botany and Environment and Natural Resources. My research examined college teaching practices associated with changes in science literacy, attitude and motivation toward science, and a sense of inclusion, focusing on undergraduate science courses. I am grateful for all my educational experiences, but am so excited to be back in the classroom applying what I've learned!

When I'm not teaching, I love spending time outdoors with my husband and family. We've recently taken up mountain biking, which has been a nice addition to hiking and camping. I find science connections everywhere I go and am always eager to learn new things and to share what I've learned! I hope to share this passion with my students, instilling a desire for lifelong learning.
