Mrs. Claflin - 5th Grade

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Claflin

This is my fourth year teaching 5th grade at CSCA. I'm incredibly excited for the 2018-2019 school year! I can't wait for the successful year of my students and getting to see them grow in outstanding ways.

I received my Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Oregon University, graduating in 2012. I then proceeded to obtain my Master's in Teaching at Western Governors University, graduating in January of 2015. I have always been passionate about education and truly feel privileged to be an educator. I grew up overseas for much of my childhood in a small country called Papua New Guinea. My experience there is what sparked the desire to become a teacher. I realized what a blessing and gift education is.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband and  two adorable yellow labs, Cessna and Piper. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, especially running marathons and hiking just about anywhere. I also enjoy coffeeshops, gardening, church activities, and reading. Last but not least, my husband and I both love to travel and explore new places. This past summer we had the opportunity to go to Montreal, Canada! It's a lively culture and we thoroughly enjoyed our time! This winter break we plan on going to New Zealand!
