 September 2018

Hello Families!

I can't believe that nearly one month of school has gone by already! I absolutely love seeing your kids everyday. I've seen wonderful growth already, and am excited to see what September has in store. Your kids are working on memorization this month. They will be expected to have the first 18 elements of the periodic table memorized, to be tested on toward the end of the month.  Additionally, they are memorizing two short poems, to be recited the last week of this month. We are encouraging these memorization skills and starting early, as memorization will become more routine. Next semester, they will memorize The Gettysburg Address, so we are making sure they are utilizing and becoming comfortable with this skill.

Some Announcements:

Picture Day is September 7

Progress Reports Go Home on September 14 and 28

Please make sure your child comes to school with a planner. These can be purchased at the front office, or a standard notebook planner is fine. These help enormously with organization skills, and are a visual to the kids and you of homework given.

Healthy snacks are strongly recommended. Please make sure to include a healthy snack for your child to eat each morning during the designated time.
